I like the range of the extension and rather compact size, though the fact you have to extend it some to use the tripod feature gets annoying and fully extended I feel it's too wobbly for timelapse or long exposures. The stability part is a long shot for something of this size, so I discount that completely, it's only the fussy tripod deployment that I'm taking a star off for. I would personally give up some of the extension to not have to deal with this, but I could see a market for a slightly longer version for those wanting the longer reach.
I was skeptical about the proprietary pin connection, but it seems nice; I'll just be careful not to leave it in while not using like I do with the threaded style. This is because it can easily twist and fall out if no camera/accessory is installed. Just something to get used to, though I don't know where I'll hold it, but I appreciate the extra pin supplied for the learning curve. Maybe add a slot to hold the pin when not in use so we don't have to worry about this?
