Like most photographers, looking for the perfect backpack is trial and error. This pack when announced seemed to hit a lot of things I've sought after; a suspended mesh back, back access to all the gear, expandability for extras, adjustable torso, comfortable and breathable straps, mesh side pockets, huge dump pocket, side quick access, and a nice aesthetics. Suspension is mostly comfortable, as it does have an adjustable torso, load lifters, chest strap, and hip belt that is removable. The hip belt is probably the weakest link of it all. While better than just a webbing strap, it is a far cry from hip hugging. The other issue that presents itself with this, is the frame digs pretty noticeable into the hips. A smaller frame person may not notice this. There are quick a few pockets, and little organization. There are 2 no-zip mesh admin pockets inside the dump pocket, 4 smaller "battery" pockets in the side quick access, and one weather resistant zipper quick access pocket at the top. This top pocket is perhaps the the weakest; its location makes it easy to want to access, but the weather resistant zipper provides quick a bit of resistance to open. The capacity is also very limited; I estimate a few keys, and wallet would take up everything (it is not padded so no sunglasses). The inner works of the bag is interesting and can be viewed as two compartments. The bottom half is accessible via the back access or side quick access, while the top compartment can only be accessed through the roll top; there is no quick access to this, nor can it be opened to make it one giant compartment. Bottom compartment can be subdivided with the plethora of subdividers provided. Back access has a nice size laptop sleeve, but the way it opens requires both zippers to be operated and pulled all the way to each end, making the back access a very slow process. Add to the fact that the hip belts will get in the way of getting each zipper all the way to the end of the track, back access starts to get super annoying. Handles are also another weakness of the bag. They are skinny, but padded at least, but very skinny. One top and one side handle. There are not any apparent luggage trolly straps.
