Camera Strap Master FAQ

How can I clean the strap? Is it washable?

The PGYTECH Camera Strap Master is made from premium-quality genuine leather and is not recommended for direct washing with water. For surface dirt, please follow the cleaning tips below:
Spot cleaning:
- Water/Oil stains: Gently blot the stain with a clean, absorbent cloth to soak up the liquid. Do not rub forcefully.
- Stubborn stains on smooth leather: Use a leather cleaner (neutral pH), apply with a soft cloth, and clean in circular motions. Do not pour the cleaner directly onto the leather.
- Suede stains: Use a suede-specific eraser or a soft brush. Avoid contact with water.
- Ink stains: Test the edge of the stain with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. If no discoloration occurs, proceed cautiously. (Note: Alcohol may damage certain leathers, use with care.)

How should I maintain the strap for daily use?

The PGYTECH Camera Strap Master is made from premium-quality genuine leather. Please follow these care tips:
- Do not use wet wipes, soapy water, dishwashing liquids, or other alkaline cleaners.
- Do not apply regular shoe polish or furniture wax (may damage the coating).
- For long-term storage, keep in a dry, well-ventilated area (recommended humidity: 40%RH–60%RH). Use desiccants to prevent mildew.
- Cedar wood blocks or mothballs may be placed near the strap to protect against mold and insects (avoid direct contact with the leather). For mildew spots, gently wipe with a soft cloth dampened in diluted alcohol (1:1 with water).

What is the adjustable size range of the strap?

Adjustable length: 830–1450mm (32.6-57in); suitable for users with heights ranging from 150-190cm (4.9-6.2ft).

What is the maximum load capacity of the strap?

Maximum tested load capacity is up to 90kg (198.4lb) under extreme conditions.

How do I use the Expansion Strap?

There are two D-ring attachment points on the front of the Camera Strap Master. The Expansion Strap can be secured to them, allowing you to carry a camera or binoculars on the chest.

How do I use the Chest Strap?

The Chest Strap attaches to both sides of the Master Strap. The length is adjustable to ensure a secure and snug fit.

How does the Buckle work?

The Buckle features a dual-anchor design with separate unlock points on both ends.
The side button locks the strap position; the upper front button releases the buckle.

Is there a risk of accidental detachment with the quick release system?

The PGYTECH patented locking system uses a dual-anchor design between the Quick Release Buckle and the Quick Mount Bead for secure attachment. The buckle is made of high-strength plastic and utilizes a dead-point mechanism to firmly lock the bead in place from any angle. The UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) woven cord supports up to 90kg (198.4lb).

Is the connection between the Quick Release Plate and the camera secure?

The Quick Release Plate features PGYTECH's patented anti-loosening design. Please use the included hex key to securely mount it to your camera.

What does it mean when the yellow layer of the Quick Mount Bead Cord is visible?

The Quick Mount Bead Cord is made from UHMWPE using a triple-layer weave (red, yellow, black). When the yellow layer becomes visible, it indicates significant wear. Please replace the Quick Mount Bead Cord immediately to ensure continued safety.

Can the Quick Mount Bead be connected directly to the camera?

The Quick Release Buckle and Quick Mount Bead System uses a dual-anchor design and must be used with the included Quick Release Plate. Do not connect directly to the camera's strap eyelets.

Will wearing gloves affect the operation of the quick release system?

You can operate the quick release system while wearing gloves; however, thick gloves may reduce ease of operation.

How breathable is the strap?

The Camera Strap Master is crafted from premium cowhide leather and features 115 ventilation holes that enhance airflow and heat dissipation, effectively reducing heat buildup and ensuring long-lasting comfort.

Which camera types are compatible?

The Camera Strap Master is recommended for use with mirrorless and DSLR cameras.

Will the Quick Mount Bead scratch my equipment?

The Quick Mount Bead has a smooth, rounded ball-shaped design that prevents scratching your equipment.

What is the warranty coverage and period?

We provide a 3-year warranty for manufacturing defects or malfunctions that prevent full or partial use of the product.
However, cosmetic imperfections, scratches, stains, normal wear or wear from misuse, neglect, or intentional damage are not covered. Items not manufactured by PGYTECH, such as fabric components (straps, cords), are also excluded from warranty coverage unless defective upon delivery.

Can the strap be used in single-shoulder mode?

No. The strap is not designed for single-shoulder use.

What is the maximum length of the Chest Strap?

The chest strap extends up to 360mm (14.17in) in length.

What is the width of the strap?

The Camera Strap Master features an asymmetrical design. The widest part of the shoulder area reaches 60mm (2.36in), which effectively distributes weight and reduces fatigue.

Will the Quick-Release Buckle scratch the camera?

The Quick-Release Buckle is made of plastic material that will not cause scratches with light contact. It is recommended to store the camera and strap separately when not in use.

Is there a risk of color transfer?

The color fastness of the materials in contact with the body can reach level 4 or above for dry rubbing (friction when dry) which is considered good protection, and wet rubbing (friction when damp or sweaty) is rated at level 3 or above which is acceptable but more prone to color transfer than dry conditions. Due to the natural properties of the leather and the dyeing process, some fading or color transfer may occur. It is recommended to use with clothing of similar colors.

What is the operating temperature range?

'-20°C to 40°C (-4°F to 104°F).

Is the Quick Mount Bead compatible with previous versions?

Yes, it is compatible.

Is the material waterproof or sweat-resistant? Can it be used in rainy weather?

The material is not waterproof. Use in rainy weather is not recommended.

Will there be noise between the Quick-Release Plate and the Buckle during shooting?

Unlikely. The Quick-Release Plate is connected to the Buckle via an impact absorbing polyethylene cord, which does not produce any noticeable noise.

There's a slight gap between the Quick Mount Bead and the Buckle, causing a noise when moving. Is this normal?

A slight gap is intentionally left between the Quick Mount Bead and the Buckle to ensure smooth operation. This does not affect normal use or safety.

Better after modification

I am a fan of PGYTECH camera straps. This is my third purchase from this company. This master strap checked all the boxes except one. When compared to other dual shoulder harnesses on the market, I noticed they all had a tether for redundancy. I didn't like the idea of both my cameras and lens being solely dependent on the 1/4 inch threaded mounting plate at the bottom of the PGYTECH strap. I believe I've found a solution! I decided to use a large key ring and attached the optional middle strap behind the attachment point of the camera. Everything seems to still function well and I'm even more confident that my equipment is safe. ?? Prayerfully PGYTECH will address this in other iterations of this product.

I've been waiting for it for a long time

I tried the PGYTECH Master Camera Strap and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
The quality is immediately apparent: sturdy materials, secure fastenings, and above all, it's very comfortable to wear even for hours on end. The shoulder strap is wide, padded, and has plenty of ventilation holes to allow the skin to breathe, so even on hot days it doesn't bother you.
What I like most is the double attachment system: the camera always stays super secure, and I can quickly unhook and attach it to a tripod or gimbal thanks to the quick-release system. It's really practical, especially when I need to move quickly.
I've used it in demanding situations (wedding or sport) and it's never given me any problems; on the contrary, I feel like it can easily hold even heavy equipment without any risk.
It's a bit larger and heavier than a traditional shoulder strap, but for me, the comfort and safety are absolutely worth the difference.
In short: if you shoot a lot, are on the move often and want to always have your camera ready without worrying about losing it or ruining your back, this strap is a purchase I highly recommend.

The Best camera straps I have ever used

Absolutely the best camera straps I've used. I used these for several months to make sure I wrote the best review I could. I primarily used them for Airshow and hiking. I used these to hold two canon 90D's with 70-200mm and 100-400 lens attached. My last trip was to Washington DC and had both cameras attached for more than 10 hrs and I couldn't have been happier. Not once did my back hurt. The support for the weight is distributed across my middle to upper back evenly, I have used Peak Design slide in the past and the PGYTECH exceeded my expectations and functioned better for the two cameras. I highly recommend this strap system.

Solid Multi-Camera Strap That Actually Makes Long Shoots Easier

I've been using this PGYTECH dual shoulder camera strap for shooting weddings and other long events, and overall it's been a big upgrade compared to constantly swapping cameras or hanging them off a single neck strap. First impression is that it feels well built. The materials feel sturdy, especially the leather parts and the metal attachment points. Once you get everything adjusted, it sits fairly comfortably across your shoulders and distributes the weight a lot better than I expected. I've carried two cameras on it for several hour-long stretches, and it definitely helps reduce neck strain compared to traditional straps. Setup took a bit of time the first time around. There are a lot of adjustment points, so it's not something you just throw on and go in five minutes. Once I got it dialed in for my body and shooting style, though, it became much more practical. The sliding system for the cameras is smooth, and it makes it easy to grab whichever camera I need without fighting with the strap. In real use, it's been especially helpful during weddings where I need a primary and backup body ready at all times. Having both cameras accessible saves time and helps me stay focused on the moment instead of managing gear constantly. The main downside is that it can feel a little bulky, especially if you're moving around tight spaces or shooting very active scenes. It also takes a few uses to figure out the most comfortable configuration, and if it's not adjusted right, the weight distribution can feel slightly off. Overall, this has been a very useful piece of gear for me. It's not something I'd grab for every shoot, but for weddings and long events where I need multiple cameras ready, it's made my workflow a lot smoother and more comfortable.

Great solution fir heavy set ups

First morning outbusing this harness to lug around my heavy lens gear, and so far, super pleased. Comfortable and the weight distribution and adjustments and just what I needed. Carrying two cameras and lenses on separate straps was a strain on my aging, repaired back. This seems to be the set up I've been needed to extend my time in the woods.

Very good

I was so excited to receive it and really happy to put it to use, it is truly comfortable and convenient for two camera usage during events and even portraits if you're using prime lenses and need more than one. Only thing is, the two cameras need to be roughly the same weight, otherwise there's a bit of a pull to one side (which makes sense, of course).

excellent and comfortable shoulder strap

An excellent shoulder strap for carrying two (or even three) cameras. Its strong point is definitely the attachment system and the sliding "lock" that prevents the cameras from sliding forward when you bend over (for example, when picking up or picking up something). The quality of the materials is excellent, and the ergonomics are perfect!
The central supports can hold a third camera as well as accessories such as filter bags and other accessories.

What I've been waiting for!

Great for wildlife/bird photographers!! I can easily carry 2 bodies with lenses, and my binoculars. No more having to swap lenses and having the bird fly away by the time I'm set up! I can also use it when I don't want to carry binoculars, and just want a wide angle and another set up at an event. You can lock one camera towards your back so it's out of the way. I got the green color, and love it! It's comfortable, easy to adjust for height- I'm 5', and it fits well!

Comfortable

Alright my fellow big guys, we've been looking for a comfortable harness and have finally found it! No more thin leather straps making us look like sneakers with boot laces. No more super thick nylon that digs into your neck. This harness is so comfortable. Yea, it still pushes on the chest a little bit from the side, but being able to hold 3 gripped cameras with big glass is fantastic. The ball system is weird at first, but actually holds pretty well. The only modification I made is because my cameras have cages with QD attachment holes, I put the ball system on QD clips to I can quickly attach/detach with either the balls or the QD.

Extremely well made and very comfortable...

I'll start by saying I'm a Peak Design fan and own the "Slide" camera strap, and if THEY offered a configuration like this I would likely have already purchased it.... but they don't.

That being said... this PGYTECH dual/triple camera setup is right up there with respect to quality and comfort.

The shoulder straps are both padded and durable while maintaining an adjustability that is quite useful.

The PD product related to this camera strap's nylon webbing is indistinguishable in composition and only marginally varies in 'size' from the PGYTECH's nylon webbing.

Like the PD strap, the PGYTECH states EACH "quick-mount bead" is capable of supporting more than 90kg ("UHMWPE cords + dual-lock beads each support 90kg max load").... now the big difference and point of interest to me is the PD system uses a SINGLE connection point, while the PGYTECH uses a DOUBLE connection point system. These connection pieces 'appear' to be made of the same type of material and only differ in their implementation.... BUT the 2 90kg points of contact with my expensive equipment is SO MUCH MORE REASSURING... knowing that IF 1 of the connectors were to fail, I would still have 1 connection to my gear that's capable of keeping 90kg of my equipment safe.

NOTE: There is no way I will ever get close to either companies declared weight limit (with either 1 or 2 connection points) ... but it's comforting to know.

Price is another 'consideration', and PGYTECH beats PD with their comparable product price points... however QUALITY ranks equally (if not more so) important on the purchase scale.... and I wouldn't hesitate for a minute in purchasing another PGYTECH system.... that is the bottom line.

I hope this helps.

great quality strap!

Great quality and it looks sharp too! What I really like is how practical it is, having your equipment right there and ready makes a huge difference when you’re moving around. It frees up your hands, which is a lifesaver whether you’re hiking, climbing, or, in my husband’s case, wading through rivers. The leather pads make it comfortable to wear for longer stretches, and the design feels well thought out. Definitely a solid option for photographers who need quick access to multiple cameras without fumbling and missing the shot!~

My new favorite sling strap

I've used Black Rapid straps for years. Probably since about 2014 I've always had one with me. I've used the single and double straps, as well as purchased a few off-brand straps in an attempt to find options to keep with my backup cameras. All of the off-brand stuff has been garbage, and the BlackRapids are showing their age. My big complaint with my current slings is that the screw to secure the carabiner isn't staying put. I've had several near misses where I lift up my camera only to find that it's no longer attached to the strap. What I love about this design is that you have double connection to your camera. I do wish that you could break them apart the way you can with the rapid, giving you an option to have two single straps. The added binocular clips are nice too, only I wish that they had a way to quick release to the strap, rather than affixing them (my temporary solution is the S hooks in the third picture). I was worried about comfort, but just wore them through two football games on a 100+ degree day and found them to be just as comfortable as my old strap while also not being as hot. They also pack down a lot smaller. I've now converted my main cameras over to this system.
